A new technical solution was provided by our R&D team related to water leak problems in AUV operations. The device uses a magnetic coupling to transmit torque from AUV motor to propeller.
Dan Mihaiescu, the leader of the research team: “After several optimization steps using the Finite Element Method (FEMM software and LUA programming) we obtained a 1.4 Nm (theoretical 1.7Nm) coupling in quite restricted volume. The most challenging step was related to the last technical solution refining by using 2D and 3D CAD simulation. After execution and testing we are confident to the potential adaptation possibilities of our device to any AUV / ROV /or other autonomous vehicles.”
