First Spyglass Underwater Mass Spectrometer in Europe

Marine Research is happy to be the first entity in Europe to receive the brand new Spyglass Technologies Underwater Mass Spectrometer. The device detects benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes(“BTEX”), methane and other volatile organic compounds, light hydrocarbons, dimethyl sulfide, noble gases, dissolved oxygen (dO), dissolved CO2, and other compounds of interest, at low concentrations in the range 1-200 amu, being able to dive down to 1800 m, or operate from deck by the help of a water pump.
